Word Study

Word Study is a developmental approach to spelling and allows students to learn words at their individual level of instruction.  It teaches students word patterns and how words work.  We will be calling this portion of our day, "Word Study."

Word Study Practice Choices

Listed below are word study (spelling) practice options to help you prepare for your weekly dictation assessment. Here is an idea for writing down the option you have chosen:

  1. Turn your paper over
  2. Draw a line down the middle of your sheet hot dog style
  3. Draw a line across your paper, hamburger style... Now you have four boxes!
Use these four boxes for your word study choices!

If you cannot find your list, you can find it on the Spelling City site.
